4. posted below is the solution to a linear programming problem since there was not one of these on the review. YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO DO LINEAR PROGRAMMING!  the problem is taken right from the book - it is p. 162 #2. do it first, then check your answers with me.

and... since you were responsible enough to actually visit the blog as i asked you to... here is a sneak peek of the linear programing problem that will be on monday's quiz...


Your uncle, Pierre, decides to sell two kinds of cheese now.  In addition to Brie, he will sell Bleu de Chèvre.  Pierre sells the Brie for $___ per pound and the Bleu for $___ per pound.  Because of the amount of space he has in the store, there are some restrictions that dictate his stock of each cheese. The restrictions are as follows:

i.. He can only have ___ pounds of cheese in the store at once.
ii.. He must have at least ___ pounds of cheese each week.
iii.. No more than ___ pounds of Brie can fit in the case each week.
iv.. No more than ___ pounds of Bleu can fit in the case each week.
v.. He must have at least twice as much Brie in the store as Blue.
